Since the keto diet is hella popular right now and I get asked ALL THE TIME what I think about it, I thought I’d share my insight.

If you’re not sure what the ketogenic diet is, it’s basically cutting out almost all carbohydrates so your body switches using fat for fuel instead of carbs.

Sounds like a great idea, right?

But that means no fruit, no sugar, no bread, no potatoes, no pasta, no crackers, no chips, no chocolate – EVER!

No “cheat” meals. No splurging on vacations or holidays.

But you hear all kinds of extreme weight loss stories and see incredible before and after pics of people who’ve done it.

Great for them!

THIS IS THE KICKER…..if you check back in a few months or a year from now, how many of them have gained all the weight back (and probably more)?

I know of exactly two people (a married couple) – in my 14+ years in the health and fitness industry – who have ever done the keto diet and stuck with it.

And they’re only six months in.

keto dietHere’s the thing: Any diet that is extremely restrictive has almost zero chance of becoming your lifestyle forever.

If you have to go into isolation to cook special foods for yourself and can’t go out to eat or to a friend’s house – IS THAT REALLY HOW YOU WANT TO LIVE THE REST OF YOUR LIFE?

Having your whole day revolve around planning and preparing food?

Feeling hungry and deprived?

Bogged down by counting calories or points?

So the question is NOT, “Which diet actually works?”

The question you need to ask is, “Which way of eating will work for ME?”

I created my weight loss program to be COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

It’s not a diet, it’s a totally enjoyable, do-able way of eating, nourishing yourself with healthy food, and enjoying the crap out of your life!

I actually believe you should be able to enjoy indulgences and not give up all your favorite foods.

And you should be able to go out with friends.

And go on vacation without worrying you’ll undo all the work you’ve done.

And that food is one of the great pleasures of life and it’s meant to be enjoyed.

That’s why my clients lose the weight FOR GOOD. And never have to worry about dieting again.
