How many of you have worked so hard to accomplish your goals, but are still not feeling completely satisfied?

Sure, you may feel immense gratitude for your journey and where you’re at, but maybe you’re still feeling “empty” or that you’re missing something and can’t pinpoint exactly what it is.

In those moments, how do you identify what’s missing and what are the consequences when we don’t? Here’s what may be helpful.

Listen to what your body is telling you

We all get these gut feelings, otherwise known as our “intuition.” These feelings can show up in different ways which can be difficult to classify.

One thing that I firmly believe is that the body speaks to you. Anytime there is a feeling or emotion, it’s our body and mind’s way of telling us that there’s something we need to follow up on.

And, what happens when we don’t? Our body can start to shut off in many different ways both physically, mentally and emotionally. Our body may trigger a signal that it’s time for us to heal, recover, tap into our intuition and see life in a different light, all which are entirely our own responsibility.

Creating a physical and sacred practice for ourselves

We all have the power to create the life that we want for ourselves and strenghtening the connections in our lives that can help us do this.

Something that can be beneficial to our health is by creating a sacred space or practice for ourselves. This is something that many of us may do without even realizing it. For example, some of us may take a walk in nature which can be helpful to bring down stress levels. That in itself is an example of creating a sacred practice.

Doing so is a physical, spiritual and emotional practice which has its mental and physical benefits. Similar to meditation and mindfulness, this is all about being in the moment and exactly where you are in that moment. It’s refusing to let the outside “noise” take away from the present.

Tapping into your innate feminine wisdom: An actionable practice

Getting started with tapping into your intuition is not the most comfortable thing to do, especially when you’re not used to it or unsure of where to start.

We may feel like we’re not doing it right and the act of “slowing down” may feel completely foreign to us. These feelings are entirely normal.

Here’s a simple and effective practice you can do to help you get started:

  • Start your day off with a morning shower
  • Instead of thinking about your “to-do” list in the shower, stand there, feel the water, appreciate how it feels on your skin and how it feels as you make the water warmer
  • The same goes for your soap—appreciate how it feels on your skin, how it smells, and express gratitude for the craftsmanship that went into your soap
  • Lastly, as the water drains, release any feelings of bitterness, anger, frustration or maybe a bad dream that you had the night before.
  • Allow those feelings to wash away and intend that you are going to have a great day

Not only is this a simple and inexpensive way to practice self-care, but you know that you are setting the tone for a positive day ahead.

I challenge you to do this practice for 30 days, and you’ll start to feel your life change right before your eyes.

Remember, we’re all meant to live lives full of joy and laughter. The more we fill our lives with that, the better our internal and external health will be.
